The Milton Early Childhood Alliance (MECA) offers a number of programs and services for families and children and provides referral support for Milton's early education and care providers.

PARENT EDUCATION AND FAMILY EVENTS MECA offers a wide variety of parent education and support programs throughout the year. Each year we offer workshops on a variety of topics, family events for parents and children together, and parenting series for parents who can make a longer term commitment to an ongoing program.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Local early care and education professionals can find out about professional development offerings available to them, conferences being held in the area, how to move their career forward, as well as receive information for on-site consultation from specialists.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE CENTER MECA's Child Development Resource Center contains a wide variety of educational materials available to local providers on loan for use in Milton early childhood programs, and is located at the MECA office. Come visit, browse and borrow!

PROGRAM QUALITY ENHANCEMENT MECA provides support to local early care and education programs as they pursue program quality by providing them with information and updates from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care's QRIS system and from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

CHILDREN'S LEARNING FAIR MECA sponsored its fifth Children's Learning Fair in February 2010. More than 350 children and parents explored and played in a giant environment that was set up in the Cunningham elementary school gymnasium. Learning Centers were hosted by local early care and education programs and numerous community resources were on hand to provide information to parents! Our next fair will be held in 2012!
