In order to qualify for financial assistance, you must meet the following criteria:
- Your gross annual income must fall at or below 50% of the state median income for your family size. Exceptions are made (up to 85% of state median income) for families most at risk. Income includes wages, tips and/or commissions from all contributing adults, child support, alimony, Social Security, AFDC, or other payments.
- A parent/guardian must participate in at least one of the following activities for a minimum of 20 hours per week to be eligible for part time care and 30 hours per week to be eligible for full time care: employment, actively seeking employment, participating in an education or training program, searching for housing or in the US military.
- A parent/guardian may also be eligible for financial assistance if they meet one of the following criteria: a parent with a documented special need, a child with a documented special need or a parent/guardian age 65 or over and retired.
